New for 2014:
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have had inadequate time to properly organize the Alpaca Showcase. Therefore it will not be held this year. Alpacas may still be entered in showmanship and performance classes and will compete with the llamas. We plan to take the time to find ways to make the showcase more workable for all alpaca owners, and hope to bring it back in 2015.
The Fiber Show will not be held this year.
We are again offering both ALSA and ILR llama shows. You may enter the second show for only an additional $20 per animal for one class or $25 per animal for multiple classes, so plan on showing on both days. Again this year, we will have separate ALSA and ILR performance shows. ALSA: halter on Sat, performance on Sun, ILR: performance on Sat, halter on Sun.
Please note: The non-member ALSA farm fees have been raised to $60 for animals entered in the ALSA show. (ALSA membership is only $50). Youth non-member fees remain $15.
We are not holding the Quiz bowl this year.
The scavenger hunt will run from Friday night until Sunday noon. Pick up your packet with instructions from Bev Souva. Her farm display is Sandy Acres Llama Farm. You can look on your own or you can form a team of up to 4 youth. The first place team will receive a prize. If you have any questions please contact Bev at 989-856-3461 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTE: The Costume Contest is open to youth and adults. Each person will take a specific time and walk around the pavilion, interacting with the crowd. You can choose your own time based on available time slots when you register. You will be judged on creativeness and how original you and your lama look. One of the goals is to show the public how versatile, manageable, and fun llamas and alpacas can be. There are great prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Sign up will also be at Sandy Acres Farm display.
