***NOTICE***
Lamafest and Alpaca Showcase will once again be held on Labor Day weekend at the MSU Pavilion. However, there will be some changes this year.
The Alpaca Showcase will be held on Friday evening starting at 6pm. This will be an open show, so membership in any particular organization is not required. Since the show concludes on Friday evening, alpaca exhibitors may leave at the completion of the alpaca classes. We would encourage all to stay for the weekend, as a great time is had by all, but recognize that some may have other commitments, and would like to accommodate them. Stall fees will apply to all exhibitors. Our alpaca judge will be Tami Lash.
The llama classes will be dual sanctioned, both ALSA and ILR. The ALSA showmanship and halter classes will be held on Saturday, and the ILR showmanship and halter classes will be held on Sunday. Performance classes will begin at the completion of showmanship each day, with both ALSA and ILR exhibitors using the same courses. We will not conduct separate ALSA and ILR classes due to time constraints. Ribbons will be awarded 1-6 places for both ALSA and ILR classes. Exhibitors may elect to show in either ALSA, ILR or both shows for the same entry fee. Our halter judge will be Patti Morgan, and our performance judge will be Pam Jensen.
Youth judging will be held at the completion of classes on Saturday. Quiz bowl will also be back, to be held on Friday evening, more details to follow.
We once again look forward to an outstanding vendor aisle, so plan to stock up on supplies and maybe do some early Christmas shopping at Lamafest.
Because of the dual show format, we will not be able to offer the Lamafest Futurity this year. Once we determine how it will all work best, we hope to bring back the futurity in future years.
For any questions, please contact Don Topliff at 517-281-4092, or email: info@lamafest.com
The forms are being finalized and will be available in early June.
Thanks, and hope to see you in September.
